Description

The contractor shall provide DDC Diamond/WC 4" x 4" x 0.167" and DDC Diamond/WC 4" x 4" x 0.330" high performance tungsten carbide ceramics. These ceramics shall have applied the ROCTEK hot pressing method to particulate diamond/tungsten carbide composites that are candidate medium caliber armor materials. Requested date of delivery is 30 May 2001. It is the intent of the Government to award a contract on a sole source basis to Kennametal Boride Products, Traverse City, MI pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The proposed contract action is for high-prformance tungsten carbide ceramics which shall have applied their exclusive ROCTEK hot pressing method, for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
