- Description
- The Jacksonville District of the US Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with a selected contractor, is going to dredge the Miami River in Miami, Florida in an effort to remove polluted bottom sediments from the river and restore the river to its Federally authorized dimensions. We are considering using a Request for Proposal (solicitation) so as to more effectively ensure the use of innovative technology for disposal of contaminated sediments and to capture possible costs savings. We are inviting all contractors to participate in an information exchange on 24 April 2001, from 1000-1300, in room 18-3 of the Stephen P. Clarke Center, 111 NW First Street, Miami, Florida. Our goal is to gather input for an RFP/contract that will foster partnership and excellence in all aspects of polluted sediment removal and disposal. We will make a short presentation describing the project, technical requirements, and proposed contract. A general discussion will follow. We will request written comments be submitted no later than 8 May 2001. Information regarding the proposed RFP/contract (e.g.,specifications and drawings) will be posted to our website as it becomes available: http://www.saj.usace.army.mil
