Description

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, has a requirement for services to design and fabricate two (2) TOX 6239 High Speed Laser Pulse Detection and Transmission Assemblies. Tasks include Circuit Design (design the transmitter circuitry to pulse a laser diode in accordance with transmitter specifications entitled "High Speed Laser Pulse Transmission and Detection Hardware & Circuit Build Notes"), Design Circuit Layout (design a layout for the circuit components based on Government furnished circuit schematic and specification documentation), Circuit Assembly (select and obtain the necessary circuit board and component parts necessary for circuit fabrication), Product Acceptance Testing (prepare an Acceptance Test Procedure [ATP] outlining the testing to be performed and the test methods) and Documentation (document the final hardware design as built, provide a user manual and document the acceptance test procedure and test results and provide weekly progress reports). A Critical Design Review (CDR) shall take place prior to device assembly and testing. The contractor shall submit an unclassified manual, documenting the manufactured hardware design drawings, user manual outlining the cable/power requirements and acceptance test procedures, data and results. Delivery will be F.O.B. Destination, Newport, RI. The Government intends to award a single contract on a Firm Fixed Price basis using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. A request for quote will be issued on or about 23 April 2001. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Government. Award is expected on or about 4 May 2001.
