Description

The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound has a requirement for 1775 gallons of primer (color gold); 1210 gallons of white stripecoat paint; and 2145 gallons of aqua topcoat paint, in accordance with MIL-PRF-23236B (100 % high solids with edge retention, primer shall work as a system with ultra high solid topcoat). Only those contractors (or their authorized distributors) who are listed in or approved for the Qualified Products List (QPL) under MIL-PRF-23236B for the required paint products are eligible to submit an offer. A single award will be made for all items. The paint will be used to paint ballast tanks on board the USS Houston. Delivery (FOB Destination) is required to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard no later than 15 Aug 2001. The procedures of FAR Part 12, commercial acquisition will be utilized. THE GOVERNMENT ANTICIPATES THAT FINAL NEGOTIATED PRICING WILL BE THROUGH A REVERSE AUCTION. When issued, the RFQ will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link "www.neco.navy.mil". It is anticipated that the RFQ will be issued on or about 25 Apr 2001, with offers due on or about 07 May 2001. All offerors wishing to submit an offer, are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFQ from this website (WinZIP is required) and to frequently monitor that site for any amendments to the RFQ. No telephone or fax requests for the RFQ package will be accepted. An email request to "victor_b_angkico@puget.fisc.navy.mil" will be accepted in the event an offeror experiences problems downloading the RFQ from the NECO website. No bidders list will be maintained by this office. No paper copies of the RFQ and/or amendments will be mailed. Failure to respond to electronically posted solicitations or quotes and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals or quotes may render your proposal or quote nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
