Description

99 -- The US Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center intends to negotiate with Environmental Technologies Group, Inc. (ETG), Baltimore, Maryland on a non-competitive basis (per FAR 6.302-1) for a new firm-fixed price production contract to obtain forty-nine (49) Biological Detectors (BDS), with an option to purchase the consumables needed to operate and maintain the highly specialized BD's, consisting of BD Assay Kits, Clean Down Kits, Tape Cassettes, Maintenance Kits, Agent of Biological Origin (ABO) Reagent Pairs and BG (stimulant) Pairs, as well as an option for Time & Material support to maintain and sustain the readiness of the BD's and an option for Maintenance Training for the Government's Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) Maintenance, over a three (3) year period. This proposed production contract is to obtain 49 Biological Detector's needed to field a 3RD Biological Integrated Detection Systems (BIDS) company. The primary use of the BD is as a component of the Biological Integrated Detection Systems (BIDS). It is used to identify a liquid sample of suspected biological material when triggered by other BIDS components. As the developer of the BD, ETG, possesses unique experience and corporate knowledge. ETG is the only contractor that has the necessary hardware and software expertise required to produce and deliver BDS which meet the US Army's requirements without substantial duplication of cost and within the schedule constraints of the BIDS program.
