Description

The U.S. Army Soldier Biological Chemical Command (SBCCOM) has a requirement to modify the hardware and software to convert one Long Range Biological Standoff Detection System (LS-BSDS) prototype into a referee system. Enhancements will include increasing the range of motion of the gimbal to provide a wider scan angle, improving the laser energy measurement, and modifying the software algorithms to collect concentration versus time sensitive data. All modifications to the LS-BSDS prototype shall be completed and validated in time to field-testing in April 2002 in conjunction with the Biological Integrated Detection System (BIDS) Preplanned Product Improvement (P3I) Follow-on Operational Test and Evaluation. It is the Government's intent to negotiate with Schwartz Electro-Optics (SEO), Incorporated, 3404 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Florida 32804, for the this service. See Note 22.
