Description

This request is for one job to Clean and Remove all debris, soot, and scale from boiler tubes, flues, baffles, breaching, tube sheets, and chimneys by power vacuuming and brushing. This job is for 149 steam and hot water boilers. Boilers will also be de-scaled as required. Breaching Flue/Stack/Chimney to be cleaned to 1st clean-out fitting or portion disassembled for access to boiler (EXAMPLE-NORTH FORT VERTICAL FIRE TUBE BOILERS) Boilers where access is limited by Flue/Breaching to stack design or type will be cleaned by ram air and vacuum (EXAMPLE-BUILDING #9175). The CONTRACTOR is required to dispose of waste. Contractor will provide a schedule for approval prior to start of work. Completion of all work shall be accomplished prior to September 28, 2001. Each boiler shall be worked on continuously until completed. More than one boiler can be worked at any given time. The Fort Lewis PUBLIC WORKS SHOP Personnel will provide opening, closing, and resealing of boiler doors, Flues/Stacks, and Access/Inspection covers to allow Power Vac crew access. Quality Assurance work is to be performed and repairs are to be done as required. Prior scheduling will be required on some of the boilers. These will require an appointment with the Heat Shop Forman. This requirement is 100 percent set aside as small business/small purchase. The size standard for a small business concern including its affiliates is $12 million. The NAICS Code is 561720. Telephonic requests for the solicitation resulting from this notice will not be accepted. All requests for the solicitation must be faxed to (253) 967-3844 or emailed to bensonc@lewis.army.mil, providing the business size, Dun & Bradstreet number, and CAGE Code if available. All faxed requests must include an email address. The solicitation will be issued and available for download on the Fort Lewis Web site located at http://www.lewis.army.mil/doc on the issue date of the solicitation. The anticipated issue date for this solicitation is 14 May 2001.
