Description

The Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division intends to contract for the repair of USCGC POLAR SEA (WAGB 11). The work package will include the following basic items: 1A & 1B ALCO Main Diesel Engine Mounts Renewal, 1A ALCO Main Diesel Engine Top End Overhaul, Temporary Services, Dockside Provide (Homeport), and an optional item for 1B ALCO Main Diesel Engine Top End Overhaul. The solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Solicitation will be issued on or about 27 April 2001 with a closing date of 9 May 2001. Period of performance will commence 15 May 2001 and conclude 17 July 2001. This will be an unrestricted procurement utilizing commercial acquisition procedures in accordance FAR Part 12. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
