Description
The Department of Interior, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 7, Alaska is seeking bids to construct a 3600 square foot insulated metal storage building with bi-fold door and appurtenances, and site improvements. The Base Bid consists of : Construction work will include all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary to furnish and install the following: site excavations (for building foundation and on-site wastewater disposal system, access road and parking lot; water supply well, government supplied, contractor installed aviation fueling system; a premanufactured metal building, complete with mechanical and electrical systems, interior wood framed storage and office space, and miscellaneous asphalt paving and landscaping. All work shall be in accordance with the drawings and specifications and comply with project permits and airport regulations. The following are Deductive Alternates: Deductive Alternate #1: Delete all landscaping including plants, topsoil, grass, fertilizer, and related maintenance; Deductive Alternate #2: Delete the 2nd floor, overhead coiling fire door and provide sill plate, studs, blocking, and gypsum board for the opening. This work does not include, not providing the framed opening, which would allow this door to be installed in the future; Deductive Alternate #3: Delete the access road and parking lot in its entirety, this includes clearing and grubbing , excavation, base and subbase materials, grading, driveway culvert, parking bumpers, and the 20 LF of asphalt paving within the Funny River Road right-of-way. Deductive Alternate #4: Delete the overhead electric, traveling hoist and its service wiring from the panel. This deletion does not include the load requirements to the building superstructure, electrical panel circuit breaker, and the bracing and steel rail which would allow the hoist to be installed in the future. Deductive Alternate #5: Delete the partitions, stairs, double doors, appropriate floor joists, 2nd floor unit heater (UH-1), and affected electrical lights, for the first and second floor storage areas. This deletion does not include the planned: framing, joists and finishes for the mechanical room, office, and restroom, and their related electrical/mechanical (includes hydronic piping to UH-1) items. All other work to remain so that the deleted items(s) could be installed in the future. Deductive Alternate #6: Delete the installation of the Aviation Fueling System (Government supplied, Contractor Installed) except for the electrical panel circuit breaker, and the foundation electrical stub-out which would allow the fueling system to be installed in the future. The Performance Period is 150 Calendar Days after Notice to Proceed. The Construction price range is between $250,000 and 500,000. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration program. This procurement is 100% set aside for small business concerns, See Numbered Note # 1. The Bid Documents will be available after May 4, 2001.
