Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with NICO-PYROTECHNIK GMBH, Postfach 1227, 22943 Trittau, Germany, the U.S. Marine Corps requirements for 40mm Target Practice Cartridge, XM1023. The sole source is based on the result of the Foreign Comparative Test competition in which it was determined that the NICO round met the minimum requirements of the Marine Corps. The procurement shall be accomplished IAW the Ordnance Engineering Marine Corps Specification (OEMC-SPEC-XXXX). The procurement is planned for a four-year period (base and three option years), utilizing an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract. The estimated quantities are 333,000, 178,000, 178,000 and 178,000 respectively for the base and option production periods. These quantities are subject to change based on funding availability and unit pricing. The estimated solicitation issue date is 31 May 2001, with a closing date of 31 July 2001. The solicitation number is N00178-01-R-1027. Note 22 applies.
