Description
Defense Threat Reduction Agency has a Firm-Fixed-Price Supply Requirement for a Geophysical Logging System quantity one (1) each. To include 5MCA-1000 logging console, 4MXB motorized winch w/305m 3/16" cable, FAC Acoustic Televiewer tool, OBI40 Optical Televiewer tool, 2SAA-1000 Full Wave Form sonic velocity tool, WellCAD software, Image module for WellCAD, and FWS module for WellCAD. The Government requires that the probes have a maximum diameter of 40mm and capable of attaching (probes) to a single standard conductor cable. The Logging System will be used with DTRA's Rotary Percussion Sounding System, which produces a 55 mm hole in DTRA's rock and concrete testbeds in its standard operational configuration. The Government intends to solicit only one source, Mount Sopris Instruments, 17301 West Colfax Ave, Suite 255, Golden, CO 80401, under the authority FAR 6.302 and pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 ( c )(1). Market research has demonstrated that Mount Sopris Instruments is the only source who can offer a system that meets the diameter and standard cable requirements. Although, this is a sole source procurement, firms that recognize and can provide the required items described above are encouraged to identify themselves. Vendors must include descriptive literature which clearly demonstrates that the proposed items meets all/each of the requirements contained herein, within fifteen (15) calendar days after date of this publication (4 May 01). This notice of intent IS NOT a request for quotes. All quotes received within 15 days, after date of publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Documentation, qualifications, and capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FOB point is destination at DTRA/TDTPS, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico 87117-5669. Required delivery date 1 July 01. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by the Agency. In accordance with (IAW) DFARS 204.73, Vendors must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR). For solicitations issued after 31 May 1998, DoD will no longer award contracts to vendors not registered in the CCR data base. Registration may be done by accessing the CCR via the Internet at http://www.ccr2000.com. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), FAR Supart 13.5 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items and IAW FAR Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 333120 with a size standard of 750 people.
