Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Boulder City Regional Office, Boulder City, Nevada, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Electronic Data Solutions, PO Box 3100, Jerome, ID 83338, for a DataSonde 4a Multi-parameter Water Quality Monitoring Equipment system. Instrumentation with the capability to collect and store in memory water-quality data is required for the current ongoing interagency cooperative and USBR funded water quality study of Las Vegas Wash, a tributary to Lake Mead and the Lower Colorado River. Instrumentation is necessary to provide water-quality data, including conductivity, pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen. These data are a necessary part of the evaluation of environmental consequences of on-going construction of grade control structures in the Las Vegas Wash and the formation of wetland habitat above these structures. Hydrolab datasonde probes are the only probes that fit into pre-existing custom manufactured field devices. The memory configuration of Hydrolab multi-parameter probes is unique in ability to be integrated to both downloading capability and remote transmission of field data. The custom design, configuration, and installation of the Hydrolab equipment, along with additonal specialized equipment of Electronic Data Solutions, will be installed by Electronic Data Solutions. (They are authorized to install Hydrolab equipment exclusively) This procurement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition procedures. The anticipated award date is May 4, 2001.
