Description
TACOM-Rock Island is conducting Market Research to determine if commercial items or nondevelopmental items are available to meet the Government's need, or could be modified to meet the Government's need to find a suitable replacement for the Transmitter, NSN: 5820-01-090-9304, Part Number: 11784700, End Item: Target Holding Mechanism/Target Gunnery (THM/TG), System: Remoted Target System (RETS). Your participation in this Market Research is voluntary and is at no cost to the Government. The replacement transmitter shall provide for at least the following requirements: transmit a digital signal at 5 watts of power; transmit a six bit word in 120 milliseconds (ms) repeated to 600ms; provide a high bit of -50 dBm minimum and a low bit of -119 dBm maximum, referenced to a 50 ohm resistive load; and be capable of manually selecting eight or more addresses at each of five field selectable frequencies. The following information is solicited from industry: (1) Do you have an item of a type customarily available in the commercial marketplace, with or without modifications? If yes, please provide a description of the item and a specification sheet or brochure. Also, please describe any modifications if required. (2) What are the customary practices, including warranty, number of delivery days after receipt of order, buyer financing, discounts, distribution, any transportation or packaging costs, customer support, maintenance, marking, etc that pertain to the item being acquired? (3) Are there any laws and/or regulations unique to the item being acquired? (4) Are you a large or small business? (5) Are any of the requirements stated above overly restrictive, or may be considered as to restrict competition? Responses to the POC below are requested by COB 7 May 01.
