Description

The Bureau of Land Management, National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has a requirement to purchase Duplexers from TX-RX Systems Inc., Angola, NY. This requirement will be a sole source procurement based on the justifications on file for noncompetitive procurements. This justification in part states that the duplexers will be used by the BLM NIFC radio cache which supports natural disaster support personnel and persons dispatched to remote wildland fire activity locations with comunications equipment and kits. The kit components are shipped in fiberglass containers that also serve as mounting platforms by affixing the unit to the container. For this reason, the duplexers must be 5.25"H x 19"W x 7"D, must be no more than 8.5 lbs., and must be durable in order to maintain their frequency during ruggesd transportation as these units are the life-link between the ground crews and the base station. The NAICS for this purchase is 334220. The BLM will negotiate with TX-RX Systems for the equipment needed for this purchase under the authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c) and 10 U.S.C.2304(c). BLM believes these products to be available from one source and that they meet all of the requirements of NIFC radio cache.
