Description

The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC contemplates Modification to Contract DAAE30-01-C-1043 for the Manufacture of PAP7993 Single Based Granular Propellant for use in the M231 Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) Propellant Charge Increments. Deliverables shall be 300,000 pounds of the single based PAP7993 propellanat to support the production of the M231 propelling charge increments for the MACS main propellanta system. 2. This effort is the second production of M231 charge scheduled in FY01. The 155mm MACS is a two-increment charge system that will provide enhanced performance for 155mm artillery. Multiples of the increments, M231 (Zones 1 and 2) and XM232 (Zones 3 through 6), will satisfy all zoning requirements for 155mm artillery. The 155mm MACS increments can be handled by both automatic loading/resupply equipment and manually. Because of this versatility MACS increments can be used with currently fielded howitzers and future planned artillery systems. 3. Delivery of the PAP7993 propellant must be 120 days after award of contract. 4. The Government intends to limit competition to the United States and Canada, in accordance with FAR 6.302-3 and the Operating Contractor for Radford Army Ammunition Plant, Radford, VA in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. All the technical data will be marked with limited distribution statement F: Further dissemination only as directed by MACS Engineering Team, AMSTA-AR-WEE-B, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 (March 96) or higher DOD authority.
