Description

The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement to purchase two Model QL-700-5K-SS QUIZIX Pulseless Metering Pumps for liquid media and Model SP-PMPWRKS-WIN Windows PumpWorks Software. THE USGS ANTICIPATES AWARDING THE PURCHASE ORDER TO VINDUM ENGINEERING WHO DESIGNED AND PATENTED THE REQUIRED PNEUMATIC VALVE SYSTEM. The pulseless metering pump is intended to facilitate experiments investigating the permeability and secondary growth characteristics of gas hydrate bearing sediments which require maintenance of a constant fluid flow rate through a pressurized sample while precisely measuring the flow volume over the course of several days. The need is for a pump system that does not generate periodic pulses in the fluid flow which prevent the system from attaining the equilibrium state required for accurately measuring permeability and secondary hydrate growth rates. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; NO COMPETITIVE RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. This award will be made on or about the 10th calendar day from the date this publication appears and will be made under the simplified acquisition threshold of $100,000. The NAICS code and the small business size standard for this acquisition are 333913 and 500 employees respectively. Any vendors who may be able to provide the required pump and software are invited to provide an affirmative response to this notice by faxing a capability statement to the CO at 703-648-7901. All responses must be received in this office within 10 days from the date this publication first appears. All responses must be in writing; no telephone responses will be accepted. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Numbered Note 1 applies.
