Description
This is a market survey to locate a commercial equivalent for the AN/VIC-1 System. The AN/VIC-1 System consists of the AM-1780B Audio Frequency Amplifier and Control Boxes, C-2299/VRC, C-2298/VRC, C-2297/VRC, C-2296/VRC and C-10456/VRC. It provides voice communication between members of crew-served weapon and between crewmembers of a vehicle. The Audio Frequency Amplifier, AM-1780B is the main junction box for the AN/VIC-1. It provides control of the dc power to the associated crewmember control boxes and to the radio system that may be connected to the amplifier. The amplifier also amplifies and controls the audio signals in the intercommunication and radio circuits. Control Box, C-2299/VRC is used when re-transmitting Radio Communications. The C-2299/VRC also accepts a CVC Headset to allow internal communication within a vehicle and for possibly monitoring the communication being transmitted through the re-transmit connector ports of the AM-1780B. Control Boxes, C-2298/VRC and C-10456/VRC are the standard for most of the AN/VIC-1 Intercom System, providing communication between crewmembers on the intercom circuit and on the radios connected to the AM-1780B. The difference between these two Control Boxes is the C-10456/VRC has an extra connector for remote a push-to-talk (PTT) control. Control Boxes, C-2297/VRC and C-2296/VRC are specialty Control Boxes to allow communications from outside to inside the vehicle. The C-2296/VRC must be connected to C-2297/VRC. The C-2296/VRC is typically outside the vehicle with a 30 feet H-207 or H-250 handset for communication with inside vehicle via the C-2297/VRC Control Box. The C-2297/VRC Control Box can be selected to have outside communication or inside communication. For inside communication, a MK-1697/G CVC Headset can be connected to the C-2297/VRC providing similar communicational control as the C-2298/VRC and C-10456/VRC. We are buying maximum quantities of 7,500 AM-1780B, 10,000 of C-2298/VRC, 1,500 of C-2297/VRC, 405 of C-2296/VRC, 200 of C-2299/VRC and 600 of C-10456/VRC over the next 5 years with an estimated concurrent buy of 1,000 of AM-1780B, 2,000 of C-2298/VRC, 300 of C-2297/VRC and 81 of C-2296/VRC in the first year of an IDIQ contract. Government drawings are available upon request. For more information contact Mr. Dylan Chung, (732)532-9181. The deadline for response is May 18, 2001.
