- Description
- MIPT Request for Proposals The Oklahoma City National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (MIPT) is a non-profit institution whose mission is to deter and prevent domestic terrorism or mitigate its results. In this solicitation, MIPT invites applicants to submit a pre-proposal package that will help MIPT address general themes related to our mission. We will entertain pre-proposals in any area consistent with the mission of MIPT. We are prepared to issue awards for short-term projects providing immediate benefits as well as for longer-term fundamental research and development projects. MIPT will fund projects year by year up to a three-year period. Priority will be given to research in the following areas, especially in projects that can directly benefit the first responder community: Information & Communications; Detection of Explosives and WMD Agents; Situational Awareness; Integrate Technology with Operations; Lessons Learned Library; Building Security and Site Hardening; Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation; Simulation; Social and Behavioral Studies; Agriculture Terrorism. MIPT is especially anxious to avoid duplication of research efforts and therefore supports projects in which universities, research institutions, government facilities, and/or industrial partners collaborate. We will give special consideration to proposals that encourage the development of collaborative networks to deal with the threat of terrorism nationally. MIPT also welcomes co-sponsorship of proposals, but does not require it. There is no minimum or maximum budget constraint, however MIPT has limited funds available for this request for proposals and desires to obtain the best return on investment from our efforts.
