Description

The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has a project entitled Seed Storage Cooler at the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station, Ames, IA, The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for a new 20'wide X 49' 11" long X 11'9" tall seed storage cooler. The new cooler is to maintain 40 degrees fahrenheit at 25% relative humidity. The cooler will include a site poured insulated concrete foundation, two 42" x 74" doors, a low temperature alarm, lighting to 30 foot-candles and connection to the existing inergen fire suppression system, alarm and control. The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $25,000 to $100,000 . The period of performance will be 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP) (NTP estimated to be issued July 2001). A Bid Bond as well as Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required. The solicitation will be issued as Request for Proposal No. 5114-1-0002 and will be available on or about May 8, 2001, 2001, with proposals to be received not later than 2:00 p.m. (CST), June 7, 2001. The solicitation is issued pursuant to full and open competition and is unrestricted. National American Industrial Classification Code of 233310, with a corresponding size standard of $27.5 M.
