Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) intends to purchase a Monochromator Model 6500 Research-grade NIR instrument required for research for measuring difficult grain constituents. The government intends to contract this procurement with Foss North America in accordance with Far 6.302-1. No other instrument offers the specific combination of features and performance that we require for this application, including wide wavelength range with high precision, measurement speed, high optical throughput for low noise, flexibility in operating modes, and photometric operating range. Only one responsible source and no other systems will satisfy agency requirements. The government knows of no other source which can meet our exact requirements and believes this procurement to be proprietary to Foss North America. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.
