Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons is seeking sources capable of preparing gas services for a proposed Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) to be located west of the town of Salters, Williamsburg County, South Carolina. The facility will include housing to accommodate approximately 1,500 inmates, and will include ware house space an other generic institutional elements. Natural gas service shall be available for testing, with a connection by September 1, 2002. Permanent natural gas service is required for use by March 1, 2003. The Contractor shall operate and maintain facilities necessary to provide the correctional facility an estimated annual volume of 35,000 MCF, including transmission and distribution to the burner tip. Actual usage requirements may not be determined until after te first year of full capacity operation. The estimates provided are for the contractors benefit and are not meant as a guarantee of revenue or use. The provider shall deliver the required natural gas service at an estimated be connected load of 44,000 cubic feet (cf)/hour(hr) at an estimated 5 psi, to support the design of the Federal Correctional Institution. The provider shall deliver the required natural gas service through a gas regulator(s) and main gas meter(s) of a type to record the quantity of all natural gas consumed by the facility. The provider shall provide and install the meter at the point of connection which will be shown in the solicitation document. The solicitation is estimated to be available on or about May 21, 2001.
