Description
SOURCES SOUGHT: COMMERCIAL, WHEELED MILITARY VEHICLE DRIVING SIMULATOR FOR THE ENHANCED INTERNATIONAL PEACEKEEPING CAPABILITY PROGRAM SYNOPSIS: The Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division desires to acquire a Wheeled Military Vehicle Driving Simulator for the Enhanced International Peacekeeping Capability (EIPC) Program, with ultimate delivery to the Royal Nepalese Army. Additional simulators for other countries may be needed under the EIPC Program. We expect to procure a commercial simulator, to include hardware, software, courseware and training materials, shipment to Nepal, installation on site, and training for the Nepalese in the proper use and maintenance of the simulator. PURPOSE: The purpose of the driving simulator is to train Royal Nepalese Army soldiers to operate wheeled military vehicles (utility vehicles and light trucks) in the various environments they may encounter in their roles as international peacekeeping forces. Driving experience of the trainees may range from none to extensive. Industry responses may include commercial brochures describing the trainer's functional capabilities, availability, options, terms, and price. SYSTEM CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED: Computer control Commercial grade hardware (220 volt, 50 Hz) Configurable database for various vehicle types, including both left-hand and right-hand drive, manual and automatic transmissions, and two and four wheel drive, as well as different engine types Realistic controls and instrumentation Adequate graphics image resolution and refresh rate Different terrain databases, including urban, freeway, rural and off-road Front view graphics monitor and side rear view mirrors Method for instructor to control, monitor and rate the performance of the trainee Sound system to provide aural feedback Realistic vehicle dynamics simulation for the different vehicle types Multiple driving scenarios Realistic seating position Rugged and reliable construction TYPE OF SYSTEM PROPOSED: No specific Statement of Work (SOW) or Specification is yet available.
