Description

The United States Coast Guard, Civil Engineering Unit Juneau, Alaska is conducting a market survey to determine if commercial sources are available and capable to provide and erect a new top running, overhead electric 20 ton crane at the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command, Ketchikan, Alaska conforming to Crane Manufacturers of America (CMAA) 70, Class C for service and ASME B30.2, with a hoist speed of 15 feet per minute, a trolley speed of 80 feet per minute, and a bridge speed of 120 feet per minute. Incidental services would include providing and installing crane rails, rail clips, end stops, double reeve hoist, trolley, cable, block, pendant controls, complete bridge structure and catwalk to replace an existing 15 ton crane. Post erection inspection, operational/load testing, test data would also be incidental requirements. Specific Survey Information Desired: a) Name and addresses (including phone numbers and POCs) of firms interested in and capable of providing these requirements; b) Any contractor restrictions in meeting the requirement. For example indicate if your operations are limited to certain geographical areas; c) Indicate if your firm is a Small or Large Business, HUBZone and/or 8(a). All responses should be submitted by May 11, 2001 to the Contracting Officer, USCG CEU Juneau, P. O. Box 21747, Juneau, AK 99802-1747. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for the sole purpose of obtaining information from prospective offerors. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation will be issued at this time
