Description

The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound has a requirement for the dry-dock, blast, and paint of the YRBM(L)-30 barge. The repair shall be performed at the contractor's facility. The barge is to be picked up and returned to the Government Pier at the Naval Reserve Center, Tacoma, WA. If the contractor is outside the Puget Sound, WA area, such that an ocean tow is required, the offer must include the costs to prep the barge for such a tow and return it to the Naval Reserve Center in its repaired condition. The period of performance shall be from 09 Jul 01 through 08 Aug 01. The contract shall be a firm fixed price service contract utilizing the procedures of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition. The acquisition will be solicited as a 100% small business set-aside. It is anticipated that the RFQ will be issued on or about 18 May 01, with quotes due by 01 Jun 01. When issued, the RFQ will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link "www.neco.navy.mil". All offerors wishing to submit an offer, are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFQ from this website (WinZIP is required) and to frequently monitor that site for any amendments to the RFQ. No telephone or fax requests for the RFQ package will be accepted. As hardcopy drawings will be provided to all offerors, an email request for the drawings shall be sent to "victor_b_angkico@puget.fisc.navy.mil". The request for drawings shall include the vendors company name, mailing address, point of contact, phone numbers, and fax numbers. No paper copies of the RFQ and/or amendments will be mailed. A hardcopy of the RFQ will be sent with the requested drawings, if the offeror indicates in his request that problems were experienced downloading the RFQ from the NECO website. Failure to respond to electronically posted solicitations or quotes and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals or quotes may render your proposal or quote nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
