Description

The Department of Defense Dependents Schools-Europe Procurement Division intends to procure on a full and open competitive basis musical instrument repair services from qualified commercial organizations. The offerors must have a track record of accomplishments that demonstrates adequate technical capabilities and successful past performance on similar sized contracts. The repair personnel involved in the performance of the contract are required to be fully qualified band instrument repair technicians capable of repairing all wind instruments to manufacturer specifications. The Contractor will be required to provide the following services : complete disassembly of the instrument; cleaning of all parts; replacement of all pads, corks, and felts; replacement or repair of all broken or damaged parts; removal of all accessible dents; oiling, buffing, and polishing, and spot lacquering as required; completely reassemble the instrument and perform all regulations and adjustments to return the instrument to proper playing condition according to manufacturer specifications. The Government anticipates awarding a requirements type contract for one year from the date of contract award with fixed unit prices for the following types and estimated quantities of student line instruments: 10 Piccolos; 40 Plateau Flutes; 5 Oboes; 5 Bassoons; 40 Plastic Clarinets; 5 Alto Clarinets; 15 Bass Clarinets; 30 Alto Saxophones; 25 Tenor Saxophones; 10 Baritone Saxophones; 40 Trumpets; 10 Single French Horns; and 15 Baritone Horns. The following estimated quantities are for professional line instruments: 25 Open Hole Flutes; 25 Wood Clarinets; 5 Alto Saxophones; 5 Baritone Saxophones; and 5 Double French Horns. Solicitation MDA412-01-R-0020 will be issued on or about May 16, 2001 with a response due date of June 04, 2001. Source selection procedures will include a questionnaire on technical capabilities and past performance references to aid in determining the best value to the Government. Small Business considerations do not apply to this acquisition, as it is an overseas procurement for overseas services.
