Description

DESC: The contractor shall furnish all labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment and supervision required to provide Home Medical Equipment (HME) services to beneficiaries of Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS). Service shall include the assembly, delivery, pick up, cleaning, repairing and storage of Government-owned HME. Service will be accomplished by travel to and from beneficiary residences in South and Central Alabama and Western Georgia and occasionally other areas outside CAVHCS's primary service area that are primarily serviced by other VA Medical Centers. Contractor must be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The contractor shall maintain JCAHO accreditation throughout the term of this contract. Contractor must provide a storage facility within a thirty (30) mile radius of Montgomery, AL. Government anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract for a period of six (6) months from date of award with one (1) additional six (6) month option period. Solicitation will be issued on/about 5/2/01. Quotations will be due on/about 5/16/01. The VA will conduct the procurement according to a combination of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
