Description
NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ)for services to conduct two (2)workshops that concentrate on the new opportunities and policies for remote sensing data. The Contractor shall provide all resources necessary to perform the work to provide all logistical support to co-host a workshop series that addresses new opportunities and policies for remote sensing data; co-plan the workshop content, expert speakers and invited audience; complete at least two workshops prior to November 2001 as follows: One (1) Spring-Summer 2001 and one (1) Fall 2001 workshop; and provide advertising exposure and reporting of the workshop results. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/SSC intends to purchase the items from National Research Council's Space Studies Board. This Contractor was awarded the initial purchase order in March 2000 and this procurement is a follow-on to continue the workshops for a second year. The Justification for Non-Competitive Procurement is included in the file. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 14, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
