Description
DESC: The Technical Support Working Group (TSWG), Combating Terrorism Technology Support Office (CTTSO), announces the availability of a data package for the manufacture, assembly, and distribution of the LVBDS. The system is an inexpensive, rapidly deployable system for assessing and disabling large vehicle bombs for use by Federal, State, and Local Bomb Squads. The LVBDS consists of two main systems: the "BattleWagon" system, which is used to gain access to and disable an Improvised Explosive Device (IED); and the Gander assessment system, which is used to look into the vehicle and determine the presence of an IED . This offering is for the commercialization of the BattleWagon system. The BattleWagon has been fully developed and tested. The data package includes a list of vendors for all components that are, for the most part, Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) items. Three prototype systems are currently in use by the National Capital Police, the New York Police, and the FBI Hazardous Devices School. The data for production and operation of the system are restricted data. Companies applying for data packages should provide their Military Critical Technical Data Agreement number as assigned by the Defense Logistics Service Center (DLSC) Joint Certification Office (JCO). To obtain this number, contact the DLSC JCO at 1-800-352-3572. The government reserves the right to release this data package to manufacturer(s) of this system based on their qualifications, which must be submitted through an application process. This synopsis is not for the procurement of this item. A technical brief, market analysis, and application for license can be obtained from the TSWG/CTTSO Technology Transition Manager, James Ball, contractor, e-mail: ballj@tswg.gov , phone: 703-405-7247, Combating Terrorism Technology Support Office, 1111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Suite 116, Arlington, VA 22202.
