Description

EPA is proposing to place a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition procedures with Hilton Crystal City at National Airport, for 95 sleeping rooms for five nights, and conference facilities for 5 days for the period 7/22/01 thru 7/27/01, to support a National Special Emphasis Training Conference to be held in the metropolitan Washington area. Participants will be arriving 7/22/01 and check out by 7/27/01 @ 12 noon. The conference facility will have the capacity to accommodate 200 attendees in a minimum of nine breakout rooms for 25-30 participants each, and a large conference room for 200 people for the general session/plenary meetings. Light refreshments are included for 150 attendees, 5 mornings and 4 afternoons. Courtesy shuttle transportation will be provided to and from Ronald Reagan National Airport for the attendees. This notice is to comply with requirements of FAR 5.203(b). This is neither a request for proposal or solicitation for offers. A Market Survey was completed on 4/20/01 for the availability of hotels in the Washington area to meet this requirement. The proposed action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
