Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Divison, Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, Florida, intends to solicit, on a sole source basis, to Sonatec, Inc., 879 Ward Drive, Santa Barbara, CA 93111 for the furnishing of maintenance of and spare/repair parts for the Obstacle Avoidance Sonar (OAS), and possibly additional OAS, to be used in the life-cycle maintenance of and for possible future construction of additional small submersible vehicles. Sonatec designed and built the OAS. Proprietary design processes and techniques were used in the design of the major subassemblies of the OAS in order to meet the stringent performance criteria. The government does not own the rights in data necessary to permit competition for these elements. No other company can provide the required OAS parts or maintenance services without this proprietary knowledge. Delivery will be to the Coastal Systems Station, 6703 West Highway 98, Panama City, Florida, 32407-7001. Address requests to the Contract Specialist shown above.
