Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Divison, Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, Florida, intends to solicit, on a sole source basis, to RD Instruments, 9855 Businesspark Avenue, San Diego, CA 92131 for the furnishing of maintenance of and spare/repair parts for the Doppler Navigation System (DNS), and possibly additional DNS, to be used in the life-cycle maintenance of and for possible future construction of additional small submersible vehicles. RD Instruments designed and built the DNS. This unit is a modification of their commercial off-the-shelf system. Proprietary design processes and techniques were used in the design of the major subassemblies of the DNS in order to meet the stringent performance criteria. The government does not own the rights in data necessary to permit competition to these elements. No other company can provide the required DNS parts or maintenance services without this proprietary knowledge. Delivery will be to the Coastal Systems Station, 6703 West Highway 98, Panama City, Florida, 32407-7001. Address requests to the Contract Specialist shown above.
