Description

The Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration through the General Acquisition Branch, Program Support Center ( PSC), plans to award a sole source simplified acquisition to the National Inhalant Prevention Coalition (NIPC). Closing date is May 15, 2001. The specific objective of this procurement is to create the ninth annual "National Inhalants and Poisons Awareness Week" Conference. The National Inhalant Prevention Coalition together with several federal agencies, community faith organizations, foundations, medical groups, trade associations, poison control centers and other interested parties are addressing the issues involved in inhalant abuse and build on initiatives recommended last year to create an infrastructure that can coordinate approaches to inhalant abuse. Sole source determination is based upon NIPC being an inhalant and information clearinghouse concerning inhalant related issues. The coalition generates media coverage, develops education and information materials, produces quarterly newsletter, and provides training and technical assistance.
