Description
The project is to design and construct a two-story research laboratory that will be approximately 4460 square meters in area. Also included will be a new parking lot; environmental abatement and demolition of three existing buildings; re-location of existing and installation of new underground utilities; and finish grading and landscaping. The new building will contain toxicology labs, genomics labs, building support, hazardous material storage, and offices. Building will be connected to an existing vivarium to provide for direct staff, material and equipment circulation between the two buildings. Project also includes partial renovation of the vivarium building to construct new laboratory space. This will be a Two-Phase Request for Proposal (RFP). Phase I will evaluate design experience, construction experience, individual key personnel experience, construction past performance, design past performance, organization chart and technical approach. The top three offerors from Phase I will be invited to go forward to Phase II. Phase II will evaluate the technical proposal, price, and subcontracting plan. Estimated cost is $10,000,000 -- $25,000,000. SIC code for this project is 1542. The NAIC is 233320. Time for completion is 408 days. Solicitation will be issued on approximately 18 May 2001. For Phase I, the solicitation will be available on the internet only. For Phase II, the solicitation will be available on CD ROM only.
