Description
The Naval Aviation Depot located at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC has submitted a procurement request for a firm fixed priced contract, BRAND NAME OR SIMILAR for 1 each Thermosonix Ultrasonic Thermographic Inspection System. The unit shall combine infrared imaging and ultrasonic energy to detect cracks and defects in a variety of materials. The system shall work on the following principles: Ultrasonic energy applied to a part causes rapid movement across cracks and other defects and results in minute amounts of frictional heating. An infrared (IR) camera then images the heat. The resulting sequence of IR images is displayed in real time by a PC-based data acquisition system. The image sequence can be recorded for instant replay or later analysis. The system must be able to apply NON-DESTRUCTIVE energy to a part in as low as ~1-10 joules (watt-seconds). It must be fast; cracks must be able to be detected in a fraction of a second. The systems technique must be compatible with a host of materials: Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals, Ceramics and Composites. Please request the Request For Quote (RFQ) for the essential characteristics. Delivery will be made to: NADEP Receiving Officer, Cherry Point, NC. This acquisition is being advertised on an unrestricted basis. No phone requests. Only written or faxed requests directly from requestor will be acceptable. Fax request to 252-466-8492 or Email to bergtda@cherrypoint.usmc.mil. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by this agency.
