- Description
- Base Engineering Maintenance Complex, Ellsworth AFB, SD. The work will include the following: (Approximate Quantities) Construction of a new 6,500 square meters Base Engineering Maintenance Complex. Complex with exterior covered stroage facility includes: reinforced concrete foundation and floor slabs; reinforced masonry bearing walls; split-face CMU exterior walls; drywall on metal studs; standing seam metal roof; mechanical HVAC (boiler, radiant heat and chilled water cooling); plumbing for toilets and showers and kitchen areas; electrical power and lighting; dry-pipe fire sprinkler system; aluminum framed windows; hollow metal and wood doors; fire detection and alarm system; ad floor finishes include; ceramic tile, carpeting, and vinyl composition tile. Site work includes: concrete and asphalt paving for roads and parking lot; seeding and plantings; site utilities include: underground electrical, water, sewer, gas and storm drainage; demolition of 8100 square meters of existing masonry block buildings (approxmiately 12 buildings) and asbestos abatement of demolished buildings. Plans and Specifications will contain more exacting information. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement of this contract. The NAICS Code for this action is 23332, SIC 1542. Large business concerns submitting bids, for service exceeding $500,000 or for Construction exceeding $1,000,000, shall comply with Federal Acquisition Regulation 52.219-9 regarding the requirement for a subcontracting plan. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers considers the followoing goals reasonable and achievable for Fiscal Year 2000: a) Small Business 61.2% of planned subcontracted dollars, b) Small Disadvantaged Business 9.1% of planned subcontracted dollars to small business, and c) Women Owned Small Business 5.0% of planned subcontracted dollars to small business. The estimated construction magnitude of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10 Million Dollars. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the Ellsworth AFB Resident Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, P.O. Box 669, Bldg. 8201, Box Elder, SD 57719, Telephone (605) 923-2983. FAX (605) 923-2558. DO NOT submit request for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. The plans and specifications will be available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and provided free of charge to be issued on or about 15 May 2001. Only one (1) CD-ROM will be issued to each firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in printed hard copy.
