Description

Naval Air Warfare Center (Aircraft Division) Patuxent River, MD, Code 4.6.2.2, is seeking information from potential sources regarding industry technologies applicable to quick-release leg strap hardware, used in helicopter and other applicable fixed-winged aircraft for hoisting applications. This announcement is a clarification on the announcement posted 13 March 2001, titled MOBILE AIRCREW RESTRAINT SYSTEMS, CBD Serial No. 50G0D4. The U.S. Navy wishes to acquire new or emergent hardware technology and design that focuses on the following major areas: (1) One-handed operation with quick releasing mechanism. (2) Breaking load of 3,000 lbs. (3) Corrosion resistant. (4) Adjustable slide bar accommodating 1-3/4 inch wide harness webbing. (5) Subdued, non-reflective color. The Crashworthy Systems Team is seeking innovative solutions to address these requirements. Commercial solutions and technical solutions currently in production, are highly desired. Respondents must clarify if their firm can provide commercial or non-developmental items that could be modified to meet the Crashworthy Systems Team's needs. Samples and 3-D models are also encouraged. Proprietary information MUST be marked as such, on a page-by-page basis. This Request For Information (RFI) does not, in anyway constitute a Request For Proposal (RFP) and as such, is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, nor otherwise pay for information / items solicited. Data, Samples, and 3-D models will not be returned. To be of maximum benefit to the program, responses must be received by June 01, 2001.
