Description

The Portland District of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to solicit offers for the Lower Columbia River Timber Pile Dike Maintenance Repair. DESCRIPTION: Repair 14 existing Timber Pile Dike Structures and remove approximately 100 piles in the Columbia River, Oregon and Washington. The work will be performed between River Miles 22 to 72. The work shall consist of driving untreated timber piling at existing timber dike structures and installing whalers to new and old members. The quantity of pile driving and whaler installation varies from site to site. All work will be accomplished from a floating pile driving plant. Transportation to and from the plant will be via boat. The Government will not provide a staging area or land access to the work sites. Timber piling and whalers will be in accordance with ASTM D 25-91 Round Timber Piles. The following dikes will be repaired: RM 23.71, RM 27.08, RM 28.95, RM34.63, RM38.26, RM46.87, RM57.54, RM57.57, RM59.85, RM68.79, RM69.01, RM69.51, RM70.77, & RM71.51. The following Dikes have piling to be removed: RM56.64 and RM61.86. Invitation for Bids (IFB) for Lower Columbia River Timber Pile Dike Maintenance, DACW57-01-B-0010 will be available free of charge, on or about May 25, 2001 in CD ROM format. No paper hard copy will be available. Tentative bid opening date is June 15, 2001. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns. The small business size standard for this acquisition including all affiliates, having an average annual sales or receipts of the proceeding three years cannot exceed $27.5 million.
