- Description
- Laundry equipment for the Gulfport Coast Veterans Healthcare System (Biloxi, MS), including delivery and installation. THIS SOLICITATION IS PENDING THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. Solicitation is expected to be issued on or about May 15, 2001. All responsible sources may submit proposals which will be considered. The solictation will be posted electronically at http://www.va.gov/oa&mm/busopp/sols.htm on or about the issue date. Request for copies of the solicitation from the Contracting Officer must be received in writing. 1. Automated Conveyor Systems. 2. Monorail Controls. 3. Soil Sorting Conveyor System. 4. Cart Dump.5. Incline Soil Storage Conveyor. 6. Transfer Conveyor. 7. Sorting Conveyor. 8. Sorting/Counting System. 9. Unclassified Soiled Conveyor System. 10. Classified Soiled Storage System. 11. Classified Conveyors (Clean Side). 12. Sorting and Washer Loading Platforms: The sorting platform(s), shall be easily accessible by stairs and include a rigid/sturdy safety handrail(s). 13. Sling Carts: A minimum of 12 sling carts for loading textiles in the clean area shall be provided. 14. Cart Wash System: (AUTOMATIC CART WASHER/DRYER). 15. Water Storage/Pumping/Reuse System. 16. Wash/Extract Systems: A total automatically loaded and unloaded wash systems shall be designed. A minimum of two (2) production systems, that include 2 continuious wash extract systems (CWES), one 1 non-production 400 pound washer extractor, 1, non-production -- 200 pound washer extractor with total waste water heat recovery capability and shall in a seven (7) hour workday, be capable of processing a minimum of 35,000 dry weight pounds of dry soiled textiles, uniforms, patients' clothing, pajamas and mops per day -- equating to 5,000 dry-weight pounds per hour. The work load is based on 60 percent rough dry, 35 percent flatwork and 5 percent uniforms and patients' clothing. 17. Continuous Wash/Extract System (CWES) Continuous Wash/Extract System (CWES), shall be designed in the textile care processing facility. 18. Staph Barrier Wall: The successful offerer will install a new staph barrier wall. 19. Clean Take Away Conveyor System (clean side): The system shall be automatic and be capable of receiving clean textiles and separately conveying the textiles to all finishing areas and cart assembly areas without manual attention. All conveyors shall be equipped with illuminating (when activated) emergency stop buttons (colored RED) located within 25 feet of each work station. 20. Monorail Systems -- The following applies to monorail systems (if offered): Loading carts for slings shall be furnished. 21. Wash-Extract System: Three (3) each, non-production 80 -- 90 pounds washer-extractors shall be furnished and installed on the clean side of the laundry production area. 21. Production Drying and Conditioning Tumbler System: Furnish and install gas operated production tumblers capable of producing 5,500 pounds per hour full dry loads,excluding preconditioning or break up of textiles. Production tumbler capacity shall be based upon a maximum 2.96 pounds per cubic foot of cylinder space. 22. Waste Management, Automated Lint Collection and Heat Recovery System. 23. Drying and Conditioning Tumblers (Non-Production): In addition to the tumbler system needed to meet production requirements, three (3) each, 75 pound stack tumblers (150 Pounds total capacity each) are required. 24. Flatwork Ironing System: Furnish and install two (2) each, microprocessor controlled flatwork ironing system capable of adjusting the speeds of the spreader-feeding machine, ironer, and folder-cross folder machine from one location. 25. Folding Tables: One (1) each, folding tables and storage devices, is required. The existing five(5) folding tables will be utilized within the blueprint of the laundry. 26. Small Piece Folder: Furnish and install a minimum of four (4) each, microprocessor controlled small piece folders. 27. Garment Finisher Tunnel: One (1) each, gas operated garment finisher tunnel shall automatically process and deliver, to the textile distribution area, 200 shirts, 200 trousers and 200 coats at 35 percent + or -- 5 percent moisture retention damp to dry per hour. 28. Embroidery Sewing Machine: One (1) each, single stitch, industrial embroidering sewing machine with computer, 6 heads, stand/table with drawers, finger and eye-guards, and work light, shall be capable of embroidering VA emblems and other items. 29.Central Wet/Dry Vacuum System. 30. System Blow-Down Devices: Blow-down devices (5 each) shall be installed throughout the facility (soiled and clean sides). 31. Floor Scales: Upgrade the two (2) existing, recessed floor scales, The scales are located in the soiled area and the other scale is located on the cleanside -- off the loading docks. 32. Air Compressor System: Furnish and install two (2) 25 HP reciprocating, water-cooled air compressors with tank.
