- Description
- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate with McDonnell-Douglas, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing Aircraft Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis MO 63166-0516 for engineering, development and fabrication of two (2) ship-sets of AESA radar Peculiar Support Equipment, plus an option for a third, to support EMD flight test. Also to be included in the procurement is development of common contractor/Navy test data and analysis tools for a Navy-owned AESA test bench. McDonnell Douglas is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AESA radar weapon system of the F/A-18 E/F aircraft. As such, they are the only known source possessing the requisite knowledge, experience, and special tooling required to provide the necessary testing. The period of performance is expected to be from 1 August 2001 through January 2006. The procurement is planned to be a modification to contract N00019-01-C-0074.
