- DESCRIPTION: ALTERNATIVE SOURCES ARE BEING SOUGHT. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Detachment Washington DC (FISCNORVADETWASH) has a firm-fixed-price supply requirement in support of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Detachment, Plant Equipment Support Office, Annapolis, MD for a quantity of three (3) marine oily waste polishers with nine (9) spare filter canisters each, to be delivered NLT Friday 29 June 2001, plus a one-year-after-award fixed price optional ordering requirement, individually or severally, for up to ten (10) additional marine oily waste polishers. A contract to Advanced Water Systems, Inc. (AWSI) of Woodinville WA is anticipated, as their equipment is the only known commercial source to provide the filtering system required on the LSVs (Logistics Support Vessels). Offers capable of meeting the salient technical requirements of this purchase description are welcome to quote. To properly analyze the conformity of offered equipment, interested offerors are expected to clearly demonstrate responsiveness to the form / fit / function salient characteristics below. FLOW RATE 10 GPM d. OPERATING PRESSURE 0 -- 25 PSI e. INLET/OUTLET 1-1/2" f. DRAINS 3/4" FPT g. TIME OF RESIDENCE 3 MINUTES h. FILTER MEDIA PLFM ("Petro Lock Filter Media") (AWSI Patented) i UNIT DRY WEIGHT 730# j. LIFT RINGS Offered equipment shall be new and unused, and shall be one of the manufacturer's current commercial production models which is currently being offered for sale through advertisements or published catalogs. Quotations will be evaluated based upon technical acceptability & price. To be considered, interested offerors shall provide the contracting specialist, no later than Tues 15 May 2001, technical literature, evidence of their capability to provide their conforming equipment, meet the terms and conditions, and provide a price quote for their marine bilge oily waste treatment equipment. Proof of registration in the Central Contractor Registry ("CCR") is required. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. Full and open competition to all business sizes is available to encourage alternative sourcing. The SIC code for this procurement is 3589, NAICS code is 333319. Small business size is 500. A one-year optional period for acquisition of additional units is required. Certification of spare / replacement parts availability for three years is required.
