Description
Y -- SOURCES SOUGHT The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concerns only. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 235110 and the small business size standard is $11.5 Million. The acquisition is for the Steam Plant Decentralization, U. S. C. G. Training Center, Cape May, NJ. The scope of work is to replace the central steam plant with decentralized, natural gas-fired heating systems in twenty-four buildings at U. S. Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May, NJ. The project includes installation of natural gas-fired heating and hot water systems with mechanical room additions and modifications, installation of natural gas-fired galley and laundry equipment, central control/monitoring system and demolition of the central steam plant and fuel tanks. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail or facsimile to Mrs. Donna E. In your response include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contacts and telephone numbers; and, (c) a positive statement of your remaining bonding capability. Your response is requested by May 18, 2001. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested HUBZone concern. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site.
