- Description
- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate with McDonnell-Douglas, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing Aircraft Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis MO 63166-0516 to provide associated analysis, engineering, design, development, fabrication, test and qualification of AESA radar weapon system's aircraft provisions to increased measured F/A-18E/F noise and vibration environments (Addendum IV). As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft weapon systems, only MDC has the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data required to successfully complete the engineering, manufacturing development, and production readiness without causing unacceptable delays in meeting the Navy's operational requirements and without substantial duplication to the Government. Furthermore, only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data and expertise, facilities, and test equipment to provide the Government's minimum needs in a timely manner. The period of performance is expected to be from 1 October 2001 through 31 December 2001. The procurement is planned to be a modification to contract N00019-01-C-0074.
