- Description
- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS AT THIS TIME. REQUEST FOR A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL RECEIVE NO RESPONSE. This sources sought announcement is issued for the purpose of identifying potential sources capable of demonstrating products to support Air Force (AF) Technical Order (TO) Standard General Markup Language (SGML) Web Viewing Capability. TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION/DESCRIPTION: The Air Force Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) Program Office, Materiel Systems Group (MSG/MMF), is exploring industry and government for Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-off-the-Shelf (GOTS) SGML web viewing capabilities. This market survey is related to the continuing AF TO Concept of Operations (CONOPS) architecture exploration activities. The AF TO CONOPS and documentation associated with a previous market survey can be viewed at https://www.asc.wpafb.af.mil/msg/cts/. MSG/MMF is interested in investigating COTS and GOTS products capable of displaying SGML-formatted TOs on both desktop and portable computers. These products must enable viewing of Air Force SGML-formatted TOs, which comply with industry standards and military specifications, using existing Air Force Document Type Definitions (DTDs). These Mil-Spec Technical Manual specifications and corresponding DTDs may be accessed on the IDE Program Office public web site at http://www.pdsm.wpafb.af.mil/tmss/index.html. The AF IDE Program Office will consider both client-side and server-side viewing solutions. MSG/MMF will perform this market survey analysis by reviewing packages submitted by interested vendors. Selected vendors whose products satisfy a portion of the requirements above may be invited to demonstrate their products in the MSG Information Technology Application Center (ITAC) at the MSG, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH 45433. Vendors may also be requested to provide the Government a 30-90 day no-obligation evaluation period of the software and/or hardware and to provide rough order of magnitude costs for their products. Cost estimates should be submitted no later than 3 days following the request. When submitting cost estimates, please include a cost breakout (e.g. cost per seat, style sheet development costs, training costs, recurring costs, and software upgrade costs). Any information submitted by respondents to this synopsis is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted or for any presentation/demonstration provided by respondents. Potential demonstrators are expected to bring applicable hardware, software, and sample data as well as provide technical support for demonstrations. Vendors will be asked to demonstrate products using vendor-provided data as well as an AF SGML-formatted TO. Interested vendors must respond by COB 10 May 01. Vendors who believe they possess the appropriate expertise and experience shall submit via email to Mr. Steven Holloway, steven.holloway@wpafb.af.mil: (1) a brief description of product to be demonstrated (not to exceed three pages), (2) quantity of set up time required (i.e., how long to set up hardware and/or to load software), and (3) any other special needs. The vendor shall also submit, via email to Mr. Holloway, steven.holloway@wpafb.af.mil, a cover letter which shall include the following: (1) name and address of vendor, (2) name, telephone and fax numbers of point of contact, (3) e-mail address of point of contact, (4) if the vendor has supplied a product to a DoD customer that satisfies the same or similar features as contained in the technical description above, the vendor should also provide a brief (i.e., no more than one page) description of the product and the name of the customer. Mr. Steven Holloway is the point of contact (POC) for this effort. He can be reached at steven.holloway@wpafb.af.mil or (937) 257-3085.
