- Description
- Construction of Emergency Watershed Protection Projects -- Texas. This synopsis is a request for information from industry's interested sources. The USDA -- Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Texas is preparing to solicit bids for several Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Projects located in Bandera, Kimble, Menard, Real, Delta, Fannin, Lamar, and Red River Counties. The individual project works of improvement will consist of work in varying amounts for debris removal, clearing, shaping, timber headwalls, sand-cement bag structures, furnishing and placing rock riprap, furnishing and placing grouted rock riprap, furnishing and placing corrugated metal pipe, and limited amounts of excavation and earthfill. Most of the designated county projects will consist of many small sites scattered around the county. It is anticipated that 8 solicitations will be issued for the projects as described above. The estimated price range for the projects in Lamar, Menard, and Real Counties is $100,000 to $250,000. The estimated price range for the projects in Bandera and Kimble Counties is $250,000 to $500,000. The estimated price range for the projects in Delta and Fannin Counties is $500,000 to $1,000,000. The estimated performance time for the individual projects will be from 45 to 90 calendar days. The above described project works have been determined to be of unusual and compelling urgency. Therefore, this notice is being issued in lieu of individual notices. It is presently anticipated that we will begin issuing solicitations within 15 calendar days after this notice is published and will continue to issue the solicitations for a period of approximately 10 weeks as we receive final design and project specifications. As these final documents are received, appropriate notice will be provided to firms on our EWP mailing list. The notification will provide information about the project (synopsis), site showing location, time, and date. Solicitations will be available and issued only at the site showings. Bids will be submitted in approximately 10 days after the site showing. Award and Notice to Proceed will be made as soon as possible after bid opening.
