Description
Correction: The previously submitted project posted in CBDNet on May 8, 2001. Add the Web Link and Description of the Web Link. Change the Description field to read as follows: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposes to noncompetitively issue a purchase order with Green Diamond Products, PO Box D, Riddle, Oregon 97469 for the supply and delivery into Government vehicles at Contractor's plant of approximately 12,000 tons of nickel slag aggregate. Option for Increased Quantity -- The contract allows for increased quantities not to exceed fifty percent (50%) of the total contract price. Performance time is 90 calendar days beginning June 11, 2001. BLM intends to purchase the nickel slag for road maintenance work. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Nickel slag material shall consist of hard durable rock fragments conforming to the following gradation requirement. Table 1204 Chip Aggregate Medium Crushed Rock Material percentage by weight passing square mesh sieves AASHTO T 11 & T 27: Sieve Designation (SD) inch, Gradation Medium (GM) 100; SD 3/8 inch, GM 85-100; SD 1/4 inch, GM 0-35; SD No. 10, GM 0-8; SD No. 40, GM, -; SD No. 200, GM 0-0.5. Nickel Slag aggregate shall show durability value of not less than 35 as determined by AASHTO T 210, not show a loss of more than 20 percent by weight when submerged in DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide, for five days, according to Federal Highway Administration Region 10 Accelerated Weathering Test, a maximum of 0.5% clay lumps and friable particles according to AASHTO T 112, and be reasonably free from organic or other deleterious material and a minimum value of 75 according to ODOT's Evaluating Cleanliness of Cover Material Test, Method 227. Payment for aggregate will be by the ton using certified scales with a maximum of 5% moisture. Scale tickets shall be given to the government representative on site. Scale tickets will contain the following information: gross, net, tare weights and date. Firms which supply nickel slag should submit information in writing specifically addressing the ability to meet this requirement to the Contracting Officer. All responsible sources may submit a response which will be considered.
