Description
This is a synopsis for ship repair under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The request for quotation (RFQ) number is DTCG80-01-Q-3FAG32. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The RFQ package and specifications will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about May 29, 2001 at http://www.eps.gov/. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, services, and competence necessary to perform homepier dockside repairs to the USCGC KATMAI BAY (WTGB 101), a 140 foot icebreaking tug. Work items include but are not limited to the following base and options items: Base items: (1) Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel and Oil Tanks (2) Dispose of Fuel (2,000 gals) (3) Clean and Inspect Sewage Seal and Holding Tank(s) (4) Clean Exhaust Stacks and Spark Arrestors (5) Inspect and Test Steering System Relief Valves (6) Renew Deck Covering System (7) GFP report in accordance with solicitation Section H (8) Travel and Per Diem. Option items: (1) 10% Minor Coating Repairs Sewage Tank (2) 10% Minor Coating Repairs Seal Water Tank (100 Gals) (3) Composite Labor Rate. The homeport of the tug is Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. The performance period is 14 days and is expected to begin 20 August 2001. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested hard copies of drawings. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Program. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirements. _ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)!
