Description

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) plans to issue a draft solicitation on or about May 10, 2001, to support the Local Area Network (LAN) and Data Center of NHTSA's Research and Development offices at NHTSA Headquarters facility located in Washington DC. Support Services to be provided under this requirement include: R&D LAN Management; R&D Microcomputer Support/Workstation Help Desk; NHTSA Data Center Facilities Support; NHTSA Data Center Systems Support; R&D Web Site Support; NHTSA Data Center Database Support; NHTSA Data Center Processing and Analysis Support; NHTSA Data Center Applications Support; and R&D Crashworthiness Engineering Support. The Government plans to issue a competitive Small Business Set-Aside solicitation using NAICS Code 541513 with SBA Size Standard of $18 million. The Government seeks industry comments on the draft solicitation and will provide industry with ten (10) days from the time of internet posting to comment. The Government contemplates a performance based service contract to include two (2) base years and up to three (3) option years for a total contract period of five (5) years. The contract will also include a provision whereby the contractor, (subject to superior performance) can earn up to three (3) 1-year extensions to the contract. The draft solicitation is being issued to solicit industry's comments on the terms and conditions of the solicitation as well as terms and conditions of a contract awarded as a result of this solicitation. All comments received will be considered; however, the Government reserves the right to issue the final solicitation as it deems appropriate. This synopsis and draft solicitation should not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. The draft solicitation, when available, will be located on the World-Wide Web at www.fedbizops.gov. Refer to Solicitation Number DTNH22-01-R-07317. It is the offerors' responsibility to monitor the internet site for release of the solicitation and amendments. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments.
