Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, requires the necessary labor, materials, parts, equipment and supervision necessary for the upgrade of an existing fire alarm system located at the USDA, ARS, Southern Regional Research Center, 1100 Robert E. Lee Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana. The work includes but is not limited to: Furnishing and installing upgrades to existing multiplexed Simplex Time Recorder Company, series 2120 and 4120 fire alarm systems; be capable of communicating with existing command center equipment; replacement of head-end panel equipment and all associated communication wiring to maintain a class A, style 7, peer-to-peer network communication loop and communicate with and be U.L. cross listed to operate with all existing field devices; upgrade software to most current revision; add network tie-in as necessary; add single channel audio control components for standalone operation; add battery capacity and back-boxes; make all program changes as required and conduct all necessary tests and correct any deficiencies. The work will be completed in 90 days. An IFB will be issued on or about May 26, 2001. An estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
