Description
The Department of Defense, Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technology Division, is requesting information for a Commercial "Support Stand". The Stand will be used to support the RONS remotely operated vehicle (Remotec Andros Mark V-A1 platform) during maintenance procedures. Descriptive literature to include product data sheets, product quality, warranty, points of contacts, and pricing information. The "Support Stand" must support the weight of the RONS and be capable of being transported comfortably by one man. Desired parameters include: (1) must be capable of supporting a minimum of 600 lbs., (2) weigh less than 50 lbs., (3) adjustable height with a minimum height less than 6 inches and a maximum height of 17 inches, (4) width less than 14 inches, and (5) less than a 10 minute set up time. The stand need only support the weight and is not required to lift. The information from this market research effort will be utilized to understand commercial item's ability to meet the projected needs. System parameters are not absolute thresholds; they are supplied as guidance to determine if the system could meet the needs of military EOD personnel. This announcement is NOT a formal solicitation and is NOT a request for proposal. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes ONLY and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Firms responding should indicate whether they are a small business (S), a small disadvantage business (SDB), a small woman-owned business (WO), or large business (L). Each response must reference the sources sought title. Information submitted should describe the contractor's capability and/or past experience in performing the described services and will be used to develop potential sources for possible future solicitations.
