Description

Solicitation N00421-01-Q-0775 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This action is not set aside for small business. The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Tricom Research Inc. for 50 watt DAMA amplifiers, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. These amplifiers will be used by special operation forces and therefore need to operate in harsh and damp environmental conditions and be in a small, modular, man-portable, transit case configuration. Tricom Research Inc, design has proven that they are the only company that can provide these amplifiers as their design is: 1) weatherproof, 2) can both transmit and receive signals, providing extra margins needed to communicate in noisy RF environments or in fringe areas, 3) may be remotely located up to several hundred feet from the operator with the DC operating voltage supplied over the radio frequency coaxial cable, 4) employs preamplifier and bi-directional filtering for elimination of co-site interference, and 5) has received interoperability certification by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) for UHF DAMA SATCOM. The contract line item number and description is **CLIN 0001 Quantity 4 each P/N AM-SAT-50D, 50 Watt DAMA Amplifier. Award is expected 29 May 2001. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 29 May 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
